Bathroom Odors
Hands down, the bathroom is probably one of the most-used rooms in a home or in a building. Its unique function makes it a necessity for everyday life. Unfortunately, the frequency of bathroom usage gives rise to some pretty odorous smells, some seemingly stubborn and hard to ignore. Instead of holding your breath, it's time for you to reclaim your bathroom and declare freedom from unpleasant bathroom odors.

Bathroom Safety for the Elderly and Everyone Else
Bathrooms are a particularly dangerous part of the home. Common bathroom accidents include scalds, fainting from heat, falls on slippery floors, head injuries from falling against bathroom fixtures, and fractured bones, particularly hip fractures. During the winter months, lying on the floor can cause hypothermia (low body temperature), which along with other medical problems, can be lethal.

Linoleum or tile on bathroom floors can be slippery even when dry. A loose rug, sock, or soft slipper can easily slide on it. Bathroom floors can be especially slippery if they get wet. It is not always easy to see the wet area.

Soap Scum
Soap scum or lime scale is actually formed from insoluble calcium and magnesium salts and other minerals in tap water that combine with soap and dirt to create a layer of scaly buildup over the surfaces in our bathrooms. Those people with mineral filled hard water are much more likely to have soap scum buildup. Soap scum can be difficult to remove if it's left for too long, because it continues to build up each time the area around it is used. Of course, this makes for a very difficult mess to clean up and one that is dangerous for your family’s health. Soap scum that is left to build can sometimes combine with mold or mildew and have other discoloration’s and odors.

What can cause grout problems?

1) Too much water added in mixing the grout.

2) Improper cleaning of the grout and grout haze off the tile; this is usually caused by wiping too soon and with too much water.

What Is Mold?
Mold is a fungi. Molds reproduce by means of tiny spores; the spores are invisible to the naked eye and float through outdoor and indoor air. Mold may begin growing indoors when mold spores land on surfaces that are wet. There are many types of mold, and none of them will grow without water or moisture.

A mold spore is as viable as a plant seed. Some mold spore's can lay dormant for up to twenty years awaiting the moment they can absorb enough moisture to begin its life cycle again.
All molds share the characteristic of being able to grow without sunlight; mold needs only a viable seed (spore), a nutrient source, moisture, and the right temperature to proliferate.
